Unfinished.

I started on a project last night for the dining room and I didn't complete it, so it's sitting on the landing at the top of our stairs waiting for me when I get home! Fingers crossed it comes out gorgeous :)

Dana and Patrick stopped in to see the house for a bit last night, it was nice to catch up and I wish we could hang out with them more. Why is life always soooo busy? Then I got to random phone call from Sheila that made my whole night, hence why I didn't finish my project but it was completely worth it!

My mother in law is supposed to come over tonight and hopefully we'll be able to recover my seat less chairs, once that's done the dining room will be basically complete. Ahhhhh, I love how things are coming together in our home! Although I did realize last night that we have A LOT of brown in our house.... J swears its my favorite color.

J was very productive last night in our guest room, he went through all of his stuff from college and all of the 'crap I didn't know where to put so I threw it in the guest room closet to be dealt with later.' Oh I love that man!

Look what came in our mail yesterday? Rachel's Save the Date :) Now proudly hanging in our kitchen!

You know you love me

J and I had a fun, relaxing weekend working on the house.

Saturday we went shopping and got some fabulous curtains for the living room, a tooth brush holder and some new clothes. Pictures to come later! Oh and J bought me a really neat vase for our fireplace :) J hung up my wall clock and made our yard look incredible!

Later on that day I went through my entire bell collection that's been packed up since 2008. We counted 82, yes I am an old lady who used to collect bells. I sorted them and am only keeping 5 or 6, I'm thinking of keeping the rest in the attic for now.

Yesterday J and I cleaned up the house A LOT. Buddy was bored and wanted to play. We're having company this weekend and want the house to be in tip top shape!

Once we settled down, (please no judgements) we put in Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. The movie was really interesting, he's like a white mini version of Usher honestly. It was neat to see how YouTube played such a huge role in his success. Also, I know for sure after watching that movie that I only want to have little boys when we decide to have babies. I don't think I can handle crazy little girls!
J said he had a promo code  for it so we got it for free SCORE! Buddy was uninterested in the Biebs, he only wanted to play with his new toy-a Poweraide Bottle.

I can't believe it's June!

Can you? How has the first half of the year treated you?

Geeze, 2011 is almost half way over! But for most of this year I've been wedding planning and haven't paid attention to how fast the year has flown by so far. I loved every minute of wedding planning but man am I glad I'm not planning anymore for now, things are slowing down and I love it. Today is my sweet Mom's birthday!

Happy Birthday Mom, love you!

I made Goulash for dinner last night, ever heard of it? It's a really easy dinner to throw together and tasted great with cheese on top. My Grandmother and Mom used to make it a lot when I was little. I combined a few recipes I found on AllRecipes  plus what I remembered from Mom and Grandma and came up with this:

1 pound lean ground turkey or beef
1 (14 ounce) can stewed, crushed or diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons Garlic
1 cup tomato sauce
2 teaspoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 can corn
1 (16 ounce) package pasta
Directions
1.In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey until browned.
2.Stir in the stewed tomatoes, garlic, tomato sauce, sugar and basil, corn and then simmer for about 20 minutes.
3.Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente, and then drain. Combine the pasta and meat mixture; toss and serve.

What have you made for dinner lately?

Bless you!

I'm trying to get over a cold and today I can't stop sneezing.
Because of said cold, nothing got done yesterday at the house.
J and I watched Gnomeo & Juliet, it was cute and J was bored.
Have a happy Wednesday!

It happened again...

Friday we went to see The Hangover Part Two, it was pretty good although I didn't like it as much as I liked the second one. It did however live up to the hype. My favorite part was probably the beginning when Phil called Doug's wife Tracy...

Phil: “Tracy I’m sorry.”
Tracy: “Where the hell are you?”
Phil: [sigh] “It happened again.”
Tracy: “Don’t say that.”
Phil: “No, this time we really fucked up.”
...Tracy: “What the hell is wrong with you three?”
Phil: “So much Trace, I don’t even know where to begin.”

We had a long and glorious Memorial Day weekend, thanks to the troops who make it all possible! Wouldn't it be nice if everyone worked four 10 hour days and always had three day weekends? I vote yes.

Saturday we had a cook out at my in laws house and had a lot of fun eating, hanging out and playing corn hole. I made Balsamic Bacon Deviled Eggs and J made our homemade Peach Ice Cream! I was thrilled with how they came out :) If you're interested in the recipe just let me know! PS Unfortunately Blogger won't let me post pictures today, booo hisss.

My sister spent the night on Saturday, she's the first person to stay in our guest room! She came with us to church on Sunday too. The service was great, we had a guest pastor who preached on the story of Hosea and Gomer to wrap up the series Mr. & Mrs. Better Half. After church, my brother in law rallied the troops or so to speak and brought over Jeremy's family to help us get some stuff accomplished at the House! Praise the Lord we are finally getting some work done in the house :)

How did your Memorial Day Weekend turn out?
