So bring on the rain

Let it keep raining now, I just need it to stop in 30 days. That's right, 30 days til the wedding according to my cell phone count down! I'm just so ready for it to hurry up and get here.

I had a minor freak out yesterday but I talked to Sheila and I feel a lot better, she knew where I was coming from. I think I've been watching too much TV in the mornings honestly, like for example and you cannot judge when I say this but Sabrina the Teenage Witch left her fiance at the altar and on Teen Mom, Cory and Leah got married alright but now the tabloids are saying they're already filing for divorce. Let me clarify that I'm not going to run away at the altar and I don't believe in divorce for myself, I think I was more scared of what if something goes wrong the day of or the night before? What if the "other shoe finally drops" and something bad happens?
That's not going to happen. Want to know why? J and I have been together over two years and from the day we met even til now I know that he is the absolute best man I've ever encountered. He loves Jesus with his whole heart, he is faithful, loving, puts up with my whining, hard working, takes care of me always, very affectionate, protective, happy, funny, and there are about a million other reason but to sum it up: he is the half that makes up for all the places in my life that I lack. For example, I suck at dancing and everyone I know can testify to this but J makes me look like I know what I'm doing. He's brought me out of my shell tremendously, we've become better tither's since being together, where I am sometimes quite and shy and will let people take advantage of me- he will not. I'm so thankful that God has blessed me with such a rock as a future husband! Never underestimate our God, he will give you exceedingly, abundantly above all that you ask for as long as you're faithful to Him.

Buddy dog comes home today from the Vet! J and I are going to pick him up at 5 in York. I can't wait to see him and have him home for good, no more surgeries.

J and I are now the proud owners of a Washer and Dryer set too. Weird how excited I am about that huh? Until you buy a house that has all of your own things in it and that you bought with your own money, it's hard to understand. And J and Wayne fixed our dishwasher last night, not that it was broken but we figured out how to make the power get to it. Wayne and Kristin came over to the house last night, can't wait for their wedding in September of 2012. Praise the Lord for good friends!

Wedding things to complete:

  • Get my dress bussled.
  • Print and frame my bridal portrait and our engagement pictures.
  • Buy condiments, buns, salt and pepper, veggie tray, and alcohol for Reception.

Thoughtful Tuesday

"...Filled with wonder,
Awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your Name
Jesus, Your Name is Power
Breath, and Living Water
Such a marvelous mystery...

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come,
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
I - will - adore You."

It's 9 in the afternoon...

Ah, Panic At The Disco is keeping me amped up on this nasty wet day. I haven't listened to them in a while, brings back a lot of memories from college. It's so hard to believe I graduated almost two years ago in May... why is time moving so quickly theses days?

We had a rough weekend with Buddy. The vet didn't give him the correct sized cone/collar for his head and he ended up chewing off all of his bandages and we are pretty sure that now one of them is stuck in his intestines. This means that basically more than likely he'll have to have even more surgery and keep that stupid collar on for longer. Friday night he had thrown up 5 times and we took him to the emergency vet to figure out what was going on, he had also chewed on his tail when I was at work and we had to get his tail stapled since he chewed a few stitches out. It's been an expensive weekend to say the least and the fun isn't over yet, he's at the vet now and they're running tests to verify he has a blockage since they aren't 100% certain that's what it is. I'm praying he doesn't have to have surgery and that whatever the heck is inside of him will just pass on through.

Random Fact Thursday

The first push-up bra hit the market in 1893, but its popularity soared when a certain undergarment maker began a successful ad campaign for them in the 1940s.

_____________________

We've got a lot going on right now at the house, we're so close to being finished painting and we had the carpets cleaner today by Stanley Steamer. I walked through afterwards and it seemed like new carpet!

My poor dog. He had major surgery yesterday and this picture is probably from when he was feeling the worst... He had his tail docked, his dew claws removed and was nuetered all at once. Poor little guy is on some killer pain meds, the vet said it was best to do it all at once. He has to keep that head piece on for two weeks too so he won't mess up his stiches.

I have a lot on my mind and have not really been in the mood to write the past few days... I've been praying a lot and staying busy... prayers are appreciated!

"He's a dropper..."

This morning while walking into my office in York I dropped my keys for the 3rd time today and I started thinking about how much I have dropped things lately like my keys or my phone or knives in the kitchen... I'm such a clumsy person these days, maybe I'm preoccupied or maybe I've always been this way and just never noticed it before- who knows?! Anyways, it reminded me of the episode on Friends where they throw the ball around for almost 24 hours but at first they wouldn't let Chandler play because well, "He's a dropper..."

Not much to update in terms of the wedding right now but now that I mention it there are a few things: I'm expecting my bridal portrait CD's in the mail next Tuesday, can't wait til they get here hopefully they turned out well! I should be printing the rehearsal dinner invites and mailing them out by the end of the week and they are super cute :) The Groomsmen are supposed to be ALL fitted for their tuxes by next Friday, the shop is going to call them this week as a reminder which is a wonderful blessing. Besides those things I only to print and put together the programs and tissue packets and our video for the rehearsal dinner!

Tonight we're going to make some adjustments to our registry at Target. We were overwhelmed by how much stuff we received this past weekend at my bridal shower and since we received some duplicates due to the whacked up system that Target has we're going to tweak somethings.

We're almost done painting at the house, can I get an Amen?! We need to finish up the Powder Room downstairs, finish the bottom half of the Man Cave, paint the final wall in the living room that housed the previous owners makeshift stereo system and touch up some of the trim work. J is going to move his stuff in this weekend!
Behold, the 1/2 completed Man Cave in Clemson Purple & Orange. (The Orange will make it's appearance this weekend.)PS a quick shout out to my future Aunt, Uncle and cousins for helping out- they're a dream team when it comes to painting.

Photo Challenge Day 20 - A picture of somewhere you'd love to travel
Hello, aren't the Virgin Island's amazing looking?

A picture...

...Is worth a 1,000 words. This weekend was surreal. Few things to note: a.) I do in fact have a bladder infection, the medicine is making me feel weird. b.) The bachlorette party was intense. c.) My bridal shower was an amazing blessing, I'm so thankful for all of the women in my life that were able to come. d.) Our home is finally coming together and looking amazing. e.) 1 month, 9 days til I'm a Reynolds!

All of the ladies that came out!

I LOVE my new sparkly shoes, I also LOVE Amber!

This pictures sums up the night, inappropriate... PS that IS water in my cup.

More painting tonight and hopefully my purple bathroom will look awesome :) J's Aunt and Uncle came out and helped paint last night, we were in desperate need of help and they were so helpful! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Oh btw, the photo challenge for today sucked so I'm skipping it.

Random Fact Thursday

The Male Platypus has a spur behind it's limbs that can spit out poison, wierd huh?

Luck of the Irish

Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity

You guessed correctly, it's my weight. I've gained weight since J and I started dating, because as the saying goes, "When you're happy you get fat." No, I haven't put on a tremendous amount of weight or anything but I'd like to be smaller/tighter in my stomach and arms. Right before I met J I had lost A LOT of weight and I liked the size I was, I wasn't as small as I was in high school but I was comfortable with myself. I had started trying to loose weight right when we got engaged but I didn't stick with it. So for now since there like zero time to work out, I'm just watching what I eat so I can make sure to fit in my fancy dress for the wedding :) Once the wedding is over and I have more time, I really want to start running or doing something in a routine every day at the new house!

Wedding news: Yesterday we finally got the quote for the food for the reception and I am very pleased to announce that the food for everyone at the wedding is only going to cost $300! We also got all of the plates, forks, knives, spoons, cups and beverage dispensers for $172. So for food and utensils, we're only spending about $500 total which is incredible since most caterer's charge you per person about $10 or more. I'm so excited! Be prepared for a backyard Barbecue feel for our reception, we're having Burgers, Grilled Chicken, potato salad, baked beans and cole slaw.

Mom kind of went nuts yesterday in Hobby Lobby, they had ALL of their wedding stuff on sale! She got bows for the chairs for the ceremony to mark off where the family is sitting and bought DIY boutonnieres for the boys which is great because we weren't planning on having them at the wedding, we thought they were a waste of money but Mom really wanted to do them so I told her it was her project :) She said they had eggplant purple callalillies and cute ribbons to go with them, she was really excited about them on the phone and I can't wait to see them today!

My bachlorette party is tomorrow and I get to see all of my girls in one place and I am STOKED to say the least! I'm not sure what all the girls have planned but I know we're going to a really fun restaurant in downtown Charlotte called the Cajun Queen, ever heard of it? It's some of the Cajun food you'll find around, I'm really hoping that they will have a jazz band! I can't wait to get all dressed either :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day, I hope you all wore green as to avoid pinching! I wore a green shirt just to make sure, I remember in high school there was one year I forgot and all the pinching was kind of annoying so I've made sure ever since then :) Hopefully I'll get to drink some green beer tonight. Wishing we were going to Virginia this weekend to stay with Donna, B-Rad, Andrew and Rebekah, first time in we haven't been able to in the past 3 years.

St. Patrick's Day 2009 out and about in VA
St. Patrick's Day 2010 in VA and Josh came all the way from TX!

Pouring Rain

It's quite dreary outside today and I have a busy day ahead. Hopefully the day will go by quickly! We finished hanging the blinds in the new house last night, Jake was a big help to J with that. I'm supposed to go and look at some dresses with Rachel tonight for her wedding and I'm really excited about seeing the choices she's narrowed down! Sorry for the quick post, have a good day!

Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently

The biggest impact in my life in the last 5 months has been Buddy, he's definitely altered my routine but I can't really remember what life was like before him. He's gotten so big lately!

45 days

Only 45 days til the wedding, I can't believe it's so close! It feels soooo far away...

I had a bad allergy attack yesterday so I stayed home from work to recover from that and rest. I got to catch up on my laundry too which was nice. Most of day was spent laying on the couch with with Buddy watching TLC and MTV. We've been crazy busy with the house this past weekend and I can't believe it's actually our house! We have started painting and are slowly making progress, J and Carlos painted the Master Bedroom, the Guest room and bath, the landing area and 1/2 of the stairs and livingroom...we also bought blinds and our microwave for above the stove too.

Missy bought all of the plates, cups, silverware and beverage dispensers this weekend at Sams. Hopefully the bill won't be too incredibly high. Besides the food, we only have to pay for the chairs, alcohol, rental of the property and the photographer. Not too shabby since I paid for the DJ in full already as well as our wedding bands last week and I didn't have to dip into savings, praise the Lord!

Patrick Whitlock Hamilton Jr. was born yesterday at 4:18pm. He weighed 7 pounds 11 oz.
J and I were so excited to go to the hospital to meet him and wish Dana and Patrick Congrats!
He slept almost the whole time we were there. I was nervous to hold him it's been forever since I've held a newborn, probably 11 years since Carson was born... geeze I feel old.

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die

I've always wanted to go and eat Gelato in Italy!
I didn't know til I Googled it that Julia Roberts did it in Eat, Pray, Love. I haven't seen the movie, I heard it was awful. Anyone else have a review of the movie to share with me?

So since I was out yesterday I'm going to play catch up on the Photo Challenege!
Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you
My little sister inspires me! She has such a heart for missions and for serving the Lord. She makes me want to be better and walk out a better Christian walk.

Photo Challenge Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

Of course it's J :) He's the best man I've ever met.
I'm lucky, I get to marry my best friend!

PS work is crazy busy today. We got a whole pile of new things to offer clients today and a whole list of new 'accountability procedures' to check off everyday now. It's kind of frustrating but I know will help immensely. I dropped the paint off at the new house today and saw we had a trash can and a recycling bin from the city! Busy weekend ahead with painting and cleaning and starting to get settled in so J can move in. Any and all come and see the house tonight if you're avaliable, if you need the address just text me! We get to see Dana and Patrick tonight, they're stopping by to see the house! We're all hoping to see their baby sometime in the next few days, he's being quite stubborn about making his appearance into this world.

Gravity

Things are starting to fall into place so quickly! I've gotten 7 RSVP's so far for the wedding and the invites only went out 2 days ago, thank you for your promptness. We close on the house this afternoon! Pray for us not to stress about anything and for things to go smooth sailing, I can't wait to get started on fixing it up for us :) I know J can't wait to get his hands dirty with the house! Rachel bought me a cake and sparkling wine to celebrate being a home owner last night, she's so sweet!

Photo Challenge Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist

Oh John Mayer, I love when you sing and play guitar.
Otherwise, I kind of think you're tool and a smooth talker.

Random Fact Thursday:
Asparagus is one of the primary vegetables noted for containing Glutathione, an antioxidant. Glutathione (GSH) is found in the body and is important in fighting against diseases like Cancer and Alzheimer’s. Although foods like asparagus do not contain Glutathione GSH, they do assist the body in producing it. While eating asparagus may not directly cure cancer or your morning hangover, it can increase the glutathione level and possibly help the liver clear toxins faster, making the healing process more efficient.
Thanks, MSN & Bing!

Day 12 - A picture of something you love
I love a lot of things. Like Jesus, friendships, family, J, and sushi just ot name a few. I tend to mention those a lot on here. So, I wanted to post something different.
I LOVE when it rains when we go to White Lake, NC and we get to swim!
That's me, J and my little brother Carson. He's not so little now he's as big as I am and he's only 11.

It's been a quite day at work this morning. I've been cleaning up a bit and started a list of things I need to finish up before the end of the week and I am hoping I will motivate myself to finish it. It's kind of gloomy out and that tends to distract me easily.

The invitations are in the mail! I need to work on the rest of them and get them out this week but with the house closing tomorrow and grocery shopping last night I haven't had time. By the time all of the invitations are sent out, we will have invited about 215 people. We are figuring that about 150 will show.

Things left to do before the wedding:
  1. Buy the Plates, cups and flatware
  2. Check in with the food guy
  3. Buy sand and tiki torches
  4. Find/rent or purchase beverage dispensers
  5. Mail out the rehersal dinner invites
  6. Decide on Music for the ceremony and reception
  7. Make sure that the people who agreed to sing are still going to be able to
  8. Print off Bridal Portriat and Engagement Pictures
  9. Print and put together the programs
  10. Fill out the itenerary and hand out to ALL bridal party members and family
  11. Wrap the presents for the bridal party
  12. Find clothes for the honeymoon and shoes for the rehersal dinner/bachlorette party
Picked up our wedding bands yesterday afternoon, I'm happy with our purchase. J is pretty excited about his ring even though he didn't get the diamonds he wanted in it :)

By the way isn't this gorgeous? I found it on Style Me Pretty, if I wasn't already doing illuminaries I would totally do this!

Invitation Tuesday

Ladies and Gentlemen, yes it is that time, it's Invitation time. The majority of last night was spent stuffing and addressing and stamping and licking... the licking only lasted for about 5 minutes til J got me a sponge to seal the envelopes. I address 100 invitations and I'm about to head to the post office to mail them out, by the way can I again point out how freakin' expensive postage is? Geezee.... I still have about 5 more to print out and send out but for now I've run out.

Coming to a mailbox near you... Thanks again to Sheila for her help with the design of our invites. Please check out her Etsy store, Sprice Prints for all of your design needs!

Photo Challenge Day 11 - A picture of something you hate
I absolutely cannot stand when people don't text you back with in a reasonable amount of time or claim that they 'never got your text.' Come on folks, we all know good and well you got it...

Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner!

It's a Monday and I've been playing catch up at work all morning since I was out on Friday. I just logged onto my blog account and found that I WON the Spring Giveaway by Jessica Lynn Originals!! Her stamps are amazing, check out her Esty store here!

Bridal portraits went fantastic on Friday, Brett as always was amazing to work with! My little surprise didn't seem to work out as planned but I'm so excited about the pictures it doesn't even matter! I can't wait for J to see them, and well me the day of the wedding, it's getting so close! The sun decided to semi-shine for about 30 minutes so we had some decent lighting, thank you Lord.

Another big praise the Lord is the fact that we didn't close on Friday and although it stunk not being able to work on the new house this weekend I'm so glad that we didn't close on Friday, sounds weird right? We found out on Thursday that we wouldn't be able to close the next day due to some paperwork not being filed, BUT we didn't find out til late Friday afternoon that I have to be at the closing and I wouldn't have been on Friday since I was taking my bridal portraits!! See, it's the little things like that that make me know how great our God is. We had no idea I had to be there since we're buying the house in J's name.

We layed around the house all weekend since we both weren't feeling 100% and it was nice, we haven't done that in a looonnnngggg time. I'm thankful for our lazy weekend as well, since the next month we have something to do every single weekend! Rest is always appreciated.

Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most ****** up things with

A person who I used to do crazy things with ALL the time is Ashley, aka Red. I don't do such crazy things now, apparently I'm growing up?! Who knows. We've been friends since we were Freshmen at NGU. Sadly, we don't live close enough to get together very often these day...

Throw back to Freshman year...
Using her 'handles' in the dorm room Junior year... (apparently we didn't take many pictures sophomore year?!)
Girls beach trip with the 'Tricks' in 2008
Hey Christina, we were at Chick Fil A in Myrtle Beach in the above picture!
I had a Kid's strip meal and Ashley was enjoying the Chargrilled wrap I think
Mardis Gras Virgins 2009, yes it was our first Mardis Gras ever. We drove through one of New Orleans drive thru daiquiri shops at 10 am after a 13 hour drive from SC to NOLA.
Columbia to see Corey Smith, this was the night I spilled an entire case of beverages onto my brand new leopard print flats.... Still sad about those to this day.

Promise

Day 9 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most

I don't have a picture of the person that has gotten me through the most, his name is Jesus. He's been there for me through so many hard and good times in my life, there are too many to count. I know that He will never leave me and foresake me, He promised.

Matthew 28:20 "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen."

Bridal portriats are tomorrow, fingers crossed they're going to go well and no rain! Busy work day ahead since I'm off tomorrow, hopefully I'll get everything done.

Change your mind

Sister Hazel is making my Wednesday go by swimmingly. I hope your day is going well too blogger!

Day 8 - A picture that makes you laugh
Somehow through this challenge I always come up with two pictures for each day. Apparently I'm 'trying' to overachieve this challenge? Ehhh, who knows...

This was Christmas 2009 with the girls and Stephanie invented 'Red Drinking Hood'
As you can see I loved this picture then and I still do now, I laugh every time I see it!

This was the day of Jeremy's graduation from Clemson. We went out to City Tavern in Greenville and someone bought us shots since we both graduated and Amber took this picture and this is what turned out. It makes me laugh that we were doing the same thing and didn't even know it til afterwards :)

You don't know how it feels

Praise the Lord it is March 1st today! For a few reason, number 1- only 1 month and 29 days til the wedding, number 2- I can listen to Pandora again for free! Yes, I am cheap but Pandora is the best free internet radio station out there right no. Finally, number 3- Spring is almost here favorite time of the year! This morning so far has been really busy for me so far. I've had 3 meetings already and it's only 11:30, although all have been productive I still can't believe my morning is gone. Tom Petty is playing on my Pandora this morning, hence the name of the this post.

J is sick again and is home from work today. Luckily he felt it coming on yesterday and was able to bring some work home to do while there today, I guess that's not really lucky more like helpful since his company allows him to do that.

No news on the wedding front as of today. I was going to work on the wedding weekend itenerary compliments of Sheila  but when I got home last night it was pouring down rain and I didn't want to bring my computer out in it. Dad called this morning and said that the underwriters for the house loan, etc. have some questions about the bottom of our back door and have requested to know why it is the way it is. So Dad called for a contractor to come out and see what the problem is. We've known from the beginning the wood beneath the door frame had water damage, we had been planning on fixing it once we moved in. Hopefully things go smoothly today so we can close on Friday, your prayers are appreciated!

Day 7 - A picture of your most treasured item
Well, I have two.

1.) My engagement ring. It never comes off of my hand except to clean it. Isn't it so pretty?

2.) My Tiffany's bracelet that J got me for graduation. Yes, I do look like a goober but I was so excited when I saw a little blue box sitting in front of me!!
